University Technician in Biotechnology

Overview

The University Technician in Biotechnology study program trains technicians who will be able to perform satisfactorily in three work areas: testing laboratories and internal laboratories of molecular biology and microbiology companies, physicochemical testing laboratories and biotechnological product manufacturing plants, among others. The University Technician in Biotechnology is a professional capable of implementing and adapting new analytical methods, evaluating the performance of experimental variables and improving existing procedures. He/she is able to supervise the work of new analysts, evaluating their performance. In the process area, he/she controls the production processes in fermenters and other equipment for the production of biotechnological products.

The University Technician in Biotechnology seeks to contribute to the country with the training of specialists in the area of laboratory control with emphasis on molecular and immunological techniques, in order to respond to the growing need of the country to increase the training of technicians who have the versatility to perform in different areas of Biotechnology.
