Scholarships for the 2022 Admission Process

The Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María offers the following Scholarships for the 2022 Admission Process:

National Score Scholarship

Benefits:

  • Scholarship for tuition and enrollment fee for the nominal duration of the career that benefits those who have obtained a National Score in the University Transition Test (UTT).

Requirements:

  • Being a high school graduate of the current year.
  • Applying in first preference to Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria.
  • Obtaining one or more of the highest National Scores in the University Transition Tests for 2022 University Admission Process.

Renewal:

This scholarship is renewable under the following conditions: Obtaining an excellent academic performance at the University, which implies not failing any subject, maintaining a total academic program, achieving a weighted annual average (on a scale from O to 100) in first year equal or higher than 67, and from second year onwards, an annual average equal or higher than 70 (equivalent to 5.0 and 5.2 respectively, on a scale from 1 to 7).

In case the student changes careers during the academic process, the following must be considered: Not having made a previous career change and complying with the necessary requirements for its renewal. In this process, the semesters already taken with the benefit will be discounted from the duration of the next career, therefore, the National Score Scholarship will cover the entire nominal duration of the career only when students begin and remain studying in this same career.

In the case of the continuity of studies from the Civil Engineering Common Curriculum study program to a destination career, it will not be considered as a previous career change.

In the case of an exchange, the benefit will be maintained during the period of the exchange. This time will be counted as the duration of the career, so it is the student’s responsibility to evaluate possible validations in order not to extend the nominal duration of his or her career.

In case of reduction of the academic load, where the student takes less than the number of credits foreseen as mandatory, that is, less than or equal to 17 SCT credits or 10 USM credits, the benefit will be maintained if the student is a senior, otherwise it will be a cause for suspension of the benefit.

In case of temporary withdrawal (suspension), a request for suspension of the National Score Scholarship benefit must be submitted to the Office of Admission within the deadlines established in the Academic Calendar for the corresponding year.

Definitive withdrawal or abandonment of studies will be cause for suspension of the benefit.

First-year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students through Centralized Regular Admission Process

This scholarship benefits enrolled applicants who obtain the highest application score via the University Transition Test (UTT) for the 2022 University Admission Process, in each of the study programs offered at the different campuses of the University. The benefit consists in the total liberation of the payment of tuition fees only for the first year, without the possibility of extension.

Requirements:

  • Being a high school graduate of the previous or current year.
  • Applying in first preference to Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria.
  • Having achieved the highest application score via the University Transition Test for the 2021 or 2022 University Admission Process to which he/she applied at his/her campus.
First-year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students through Centralized Special Admission Process

This scholarship benefits enrolled applicants who obtain the highest application score via the University Transition Test (UTT) through the Centralized Special Admission Process. The benefit consists in the total liberation of the payment of tuition fees only for the first year, without the possibility of extension.

Requirements:

  • Being a high school graduate of the previous or current year.
  • Having achieved the highest weighted score in the Special Admission process to which he/she applied in his/her Campus.

Renewal:

The First-Year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students via Centralized Special Admission is only awarded in the first year without renewal.

First-year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students through Direct Special Admission Process

This scholarship benefits enrolled applicants who obtain the highest application score through the Direct Special Admission Process. The benefit consists in the total liberation of the payment of tuition fees only for the first year, without the possibility of extension.

Requirements:

  • Being a high school graduate of the previous or current year.
  • Having achieved the highest weighted score in the Special Admission process to which he/she applied in his/her Campus.
Ex Umbra in Solem" Propaedeutic Program Admission Scholarship

This scholarship benefits applicants who are admitted through the “Ex Umbra in Solem” Special Propaedeutic Program. The benefit consists in the total liberation of the payment of tuition fees only for the first year, without the possibility of extension.

Requirements:

  • Applying in first preference to Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria.
First-Year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students via the Centralized Special Admission Process for Outstanding Athletes

This scholarship benefits new applicants who obtain the highest application score via Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes in Training. The benefit considers the release of up to 50% of the annual tuition fee for the nominal duration of the course.

Requisitos:

  • Being a High School graduate of the current or previous year.
  • Having achieved the highest weighted score in the Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes in Training.
First-Year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students via the Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes in Training

This scholarship benefits new applicants who obtain the highest application score via Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes in Training. The benefit considers the release of up to 50% of the annual tuition fee for the nominal duration of the course.

Requisitos:

  • Being a High School graduate of the current or previous year.
  • Having achieved the highest weighted score in the Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes in Training.
First-Year Academic Merit Scholarship for new students via the Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes

This scholarship benefits new applicants who obtain the highest application score via Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athletes. The benefit considers the total liberation of the payment of fees and tuition for the nominal duration of the career.

Requisitos:

  • Being a High School graduate of the current or previous year.
  • Having achieved the highest weighted score in the Centralized Special Admission Process for Elite Athlete.
